Our Story

John Meyer, the company’s founder, launched American Wildlife Calendars in 1993 by publishing the first Mule Deer calendar. His passion and knowledge for hunting Mule Deer translated into a beautiful and sought after calendar by fellow enthusiasts. As sales grew published titles expanded to include Elk, Trout, Whitetail, Saltwater Fly Fishing, Hunting Dogs, Labs Afield, Trophy Antlers and Horns, and Waterfowl to name a few. John’s love for being in the outdoors where he hunted, fished, and hiked from a young age with his father and brother inspired the expansion of the calendar company.

Later he acquired the Angler's Catalog Company and Silver Creek Press, to offer a wider variety of new concepts and categories. At our Idaho headquarters, our team produces high-quality calendars. Since Jared and Matthew, John’s sons, have taken over the management of the company calendar titles have diversified outside of the outdoor themed titles to include many other areas of interest. We still believe we produce the best wildlife calendars on the market but we have expanded our titles to appeal to a wider audience.

America’s biggest outdoor-retailers have offered our unique calendars for many years. So have small businesses, contractors, distributors and specialty manufacturers all over the country. We are most honored by the thousands of individuals who have been buying our calendars for decades, many for the last 30 years.
